An afternoon of beautiful chamber music with the talented young baritone, Piran Legg. Piran grew up in Whitstable and after completing his undergraduate degree in History at the University of Kent he opted to pursue a career in singing. He is proud to be a former winner of a Canterbury Festival Music Prize and an International Opera Awards young bursary winner 2014-15. Piran has been a Young Artist at Garsington Opera in 2015.

As well maintaining a busy Operatic schedule Piran enjoys singing a great variety of concert and recital works with orchestras and choirs around the U.K. and abroad, in 2015 working with James Bowman and Mark Deller on a short tour of Handel’s Messiah in France which culminated at Amiens Cathedral and performing CPE Bach’s Magnificat with the Oxford Bach choir. In this afternoon concert he will perform a variety of pieces with the Festival Chamber Orchestra, who will also perform Nyman's 'Time lapse' next to Purcell's 'What power art thou'. The program will finish with Ian Crowther perfoming Carl Dittersdorf's Oboe Concerto in G.
