  1. Human Kind - Michael Solomon Williams

People today feel deeply affected by division to an extent unknown in generations. In the UK the recent referendum has affected friendships, families and communities, and division is keenly felt in the US as well as across the world.

In response, stars across the musical spectrum are coming together for a collaborative international concert, culminating in the filming of a video single: Human Kind, all in support of charities Musicians without Borders, Amnesty International and Music Action International. The single will incorporate a huge line-up of soloists, choral and orchestral forces, combined with video contributions from around the world.

Guest artists include some of the world’s finest musicians in a huge variety of genres: Cassidy Janson, star of the multiple-Olivier Award-winning smash hit show BeautifulThe Carole King Musical, Grammy Award-nominee mezzo soprano Sarah Connolly (currently starring in Die Walküre at Bayreuth), guitarist Mark Lettieri of multiple Grammy Award-winning Snarky Puppy, chart-topping UK singer Sarah Jane Morris, Bengali folk star Saida Tani and Scottish folk musician Ewan McLennan with guest speaker author and Guardian journalist George Monbiot. The evening will be conducted by James Burton and the orchestra led by Thomas Gould, also featuring in a trio set with pianist Andrew McCormack and percussion virtuoso Bernhard Schimpelsberger. More artists are confirmed daily. International opera star Joyce DiDonato is honorary patron of the event.
