One of Hampshire’s leading fundraising ensembles, The Charity Symphony Orchestra draws players from a pool of over 200 musicians, from both amateur and professional backgrounds. All those involved with the orchestra – the players, the committee and the management – donate their time and skill to the goal of raising as much money as possible for deserving causes. The musicians only come together on the day of the concert to rehearse, with some travelling from long distances around both the UK and Europe at their own cost to attend. The orchestra mostly performs in Hampshire and London, but has recently returned from a short tour to Italy, where it played with the wonderful AllegroModerato – an orchestra supporting musicians with varying special needs.

On Saturday the 23rd of July, at 7:30pm, the Charity Symphony Orchestra will be performing at St Mary’s Church on Putney High Street. The concert is in aid of Thrive, a charity which uses gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable. Tickets are £12 and £10 and are available on the door.
