Pinsuti’s next concert is going to be special for many reasons. As well as presenting some really wonderful music, the concert will be raising money for an excellent cause.
Christ Church has a splendid acoustic (as well as comfy chairs) and this, along with its superb organ, will be exploited to the full in a well-loved classic work: Mendelssohn's ‘Hear My Prayer’ (better known as ‘O for the wings of a dove’). In contrast, Chilcott’s arrangement of the spiritual ‘Were you there’ highlights the choir's close harmony and sensitive rendition a cappella, as does Whitacre’s deeply emotional piece ‘When David Heard’, which will touch any parent in the choir or audience. Sacred works range in age from ‘Credo’ by Tallis, via Barber's soaring ‘Agnus Dei’, to the rather different, but equally delightful ‘Gloria’ and ‘Sanctus’ by the contemporary Swedish composer, Jan Sandström. Pinsuti will also be singing four of Finzi's settings of poems by Robert Bridges, bringing a lighter feel to the evening.

Whenever possible, Pinsuti aims to raise money for local charities and good causes, and is this time delighted to be supporting the work of Anna Chapman and her fellow volunteers, helping refugees in Calais and Greece. More information about their work can be found on their website.
