Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra - a family concert

For their next performance the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra will present a family concert filled with fun, excitement and great music! Children are welcome at this special performance where they can discover the magic of seeing and hearing a full orchestra.

The programme with include John Williams’s incredible music for Star Wars, Jupiter from Holst’s Planets Suite and Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor. There will also be a selection from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Sound of Music and the chance to sing-along with the famous songs during this whistle-stop tour of the musical! Grieg’s incredibly popular ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ from Peer Gynt will also be performed along with the enchanting musical tale of ‘Tubby the Tuba’ by Kleinsinger and Tripp. Audience participation will also be required for the creation of a musical rainstorm.

Currently proceeding through its 30th Season the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra is now well established in the local area with over 60 registered members, having performed an incredibly wide and varied repertoire of works over the years. In addition to countless concerts at local venues throughout Hillingdon, the group has also performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Southwark Cathedral. In July 2011 the group celebrated 25 years of music making at the Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square.

The Family Concert promises fun for ages 8-108 including parents and grandparents!
