  1. Overture, from Il Barbiere di Siviglia, 'The Barber of Seville' - Gioachino Rossini
  2. Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra in E flat K 364 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  3. Symphony No 9 in C, 'Great' D 944 - Franz Schubert

Rossini overtures are fun! This one is no exception. It had already been used for two earlier operas, but seems to be tailor-made for 'The Barber' and Figaro's character.

Mozart and Schubert masterpieces follow. Mozart's glorious Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola has been described as a work in which "The two solo instruments become characters as if in an opera...and respond lovingly to each other throughout". Jaroslaw Nadrzycki and Michael Bryla play violin and viola respectively.

Finally Schubert's great C major symphony takes the stage. We look forward impatiently to hear and rejoice in this symphony - an experience sadly denied to the composer.
