Formed in 2011 and described as ‘exuberant and energetic’, the Alke Quartet is rapidly earning a reputation for its stylish performances and innovative programmes throughout the UK. They have been named as Park Lane Group Young Artists for 2016, and will be in residence at the Royal College of Music on the Artist Diploma in Chamber Music course in 2015/16.

The group are part of the ChamberStudio scheme at King’s Place and have received masterclasses from Rita Wagner, Krysia Osostowicz, Simon Rowland-Jones and Richard Ireland. They were finalists in the Ernest Bloch Music Competition and St. Martin’s Chamber Music Competition, and were accepted onto the International Music Seminar Prussia Cove, working closely with the Endellion Quartet’s David Waterman. They have performed at venues including St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James’s Piccadilly, Bath’s Pump Room, and the Barbican Centre.

The Alke Quartet are thrilled to be featured in next year’s St. Martin-in-the-Fields Lunchtime Concert Series, and are thoroughly looking forward to their busy season ahead.
