  2. Vesperae solennes de confessore in C, 'Solemn Vespers' K 339 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart’s Requiem is the main work in our commemorative autumn concert this year and we are honoured and privileged to be performing in the presence of His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent KG GCMG GCVO ADC. The Parliament Choir along with soloists and the English Symphony Orchestra will be musical partners for this important performance which will also include Mozart’s Solemn Vespers.

Remembering our close links with Dresden and the reciprocal suffering of that city, we look forward to welcoming special guests to Coventry for this concert. It was on November 14th 1940 that bombs destroyed Coventry and its Cathedral and staging this concert on the 75th anniversary of the destruction is especially poignant. The concert will be part of the City of Coventry’s Peace Festival and will contribute to a high-profile weekend of events at the Cathedral and around the city.
