  4. Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No 5 in E flat, 'Emperor' Op 73 - Ludwig van Beethoven

It will be a welcome return to York for Alessandro Taverna and he will be playing one of his favourite concertos. Beethoven's 5th is called the Emperor and is certainly deserving of that name both in its grandeur as a work, and also because it was dedicated to Archduke Rudolf, Beethoven's pupil and patron. The orchestra will be continuing its journey through the major orchestral works of Jean Sibelius with the wonderful Karelia Suite and also his 3rd Symphony. Come along and support one of the best orchestras in the region!
