  1. Sweet Charity - Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields

Cadogan Hall presents Sweet Charity, a comical but tender look at the adventures and misadventures in the ways of love encountered by New York dance hall hostess Charity Hope Valentine. Dreaming of old-fashioned romance, Charity is always falling for the wrong man and gives her heart to one undeserving man after another.

Denise Van Outen stars as Charity – singing, dancing, laughing and crying her way through this all-time classic musical comedy, alongside a host of other wonderful characters including her cynical girlfriends at the dance hall (Kerry Ellis and Kimberley Walsh), claustrophobic tax accountant suitor Oscar (Michael Xavier) and the phony evangelist Big Daddy. Through trials and tribulations, Sweet Charity continues searching for love, ever hopeful.

Featuring a fabulous score, including the classic songs Big Spender, There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This, Rhythm Of Life, If My Friends Could See Me Now, I’m A Brass Band, Baby, Dream Your Dream, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, dancing and chorus from Arts Ed Ensemble, Cadogan Hall’s summer production 2015 will be the best one yet!

Denise Van Outen has played Roxie Hart (Chicago) on both West End and Broadway stages and Paulette in Legally Blonde (Savoy Theatre). Last year Denise wrote and starred in her widely acclaimed musical show Some Girl I Used to Know.

Michael Xavier is a two-time Laurence Olivier Award nominated English actor and singer (Into the Woods, Love Story). In February 2015, Michael joined the cast of Stephen Sondheim’s award-winning musical Assassins.

Kimberley Walsh is widely recognised as one fifth of Girls Aloud.Following the band’s split in 2013, Kimberley made her West End debut in 2012 as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical.

Kerry Ellis is best known for her work in musical theatre and has played lead roles in West End musicals including Les Misérables, Oliverand Wicked, winning a Whatsonstage Award in 2015 for her role as Elphaba. In February 2015, Ellis replaced Nicole Scherzinger in the role of Grizabella in Cats at the London Palladium.
