Get ready for another big flag-waving, toe-tapping, roof-raising extravaganza as Wales' iconic Hywel Girls' Choir and Hywel Boy Singers presents teh 16th exciting Last Night of the Proms.
Now in its 16th successful year, the 2015 Last Night of the Proms will feature the giant 225+ massed voices of the Hywel Girls’ Choir and Hywel Boy Singers, the mighty and award-winning Pontarddulais Male Choir and the Llanelli Choral Society, joined by the grand symphonic sounds of the internationally acclaimed British Sinfonietta Orchestra, TV celebrity and singer Aled Hall, pianist Jean Hywel, organist Huw Tregelles Williams, compered by Jeremy Hywel – all under the direction of conductor John Hywel Williams.
With over 275 singers and musicians, the Last Night of the Proms promises to be an explosive and roof-raising journey with exciting patriotic pomp, magic from musical theatre, great moments from the world of cinema, cherished classics and a tribute to the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
Highlights will include flag-waving frenzy with Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory, Fantasia on Sea Songs, Jerusalem, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Les Miserables, Tchaikovsky’s 1812, Strauss’s Radetksy March, O Fortuna, Hallelujah Chorus, great opera choruses and great theme tunes from Hollywood and war movies.
