Two celebratory cantatas for vocal soloists, obbligato organ, choir, and orchestra, flank this rich programme of Bach's choral and organ works. The concert includes one of Bach's finest motets, the thrilling double-choir 'Der Geist hilft', together with the world première of Poul Ruders' Trio super Wer Gott Vertraut, inspired by Bach's Orgelbüchlein. The Choir of The Queen's College, Oxford directed by Owen Rees perform with the professional period instrument ensemble, The Queen's Consort, and world-renowned organist Stephen Farr.
