Voyage with Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and find your pathway through multi-layered musical landscapes!

Created in collaboration with Birmingham-based theatre company Stan’s Cafe, BCMG Family Concerts introduce young people and their families to the exciting world of contemporary music.

These hour-long performances weave music with photographic projection, atmospheric lighting and narration to create colourful and engaging concerts to ignite young imaginations.

This exhilarating programme of short pieces will paint a series of musical scenes. Simon Bainbridge’s Path to Othona will be presented alongside a newly commissioned series of photographs exploring a journey through the countryside of Othona in Suffolk; postcard-like images from the Library of Birmingham’s archive will complement the musical postcards of Runes from a Holy Island; and Duncan Chapman’s new piece will be completed using musical lines created by families in our pre-concert activity café!

There will be a fun activity café an hour before each performance – please turn up early and enjoy the whole Family Concerts experience!
