The Academia Musica Orchestra returns to Malvern Priory with a pan-European programme of French and Czech music. The evening features Dvorak’s Eighth Symphony – commissioned by the London Philharmonic Society in 1885 – and Fauré’s reflective suite from his incidental music for Maeterlinck’s play of the same title.

The evening is rounded off by the ever-popular Pavane, which has found fame in several instrumentations and performance styles (including as a 1917 ballet by Diaghilev) but is here performed in the arrangement for orchestra.
