A former Julliard pupil and winner of many awards, including being a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year for three consecutive competitions, flautist Katherine Bryan made her concerto debut at the age of 15 with Daniel Harding and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London. Her US concerto debut was at the Lincoln Centre with the Jullilard Orchestra. A brilliant musician, on her graduation at 21 years, she was appointed to her first and only job as principal flute, with the Scottish National Orchestra. She has since performed as soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National, Halle, Nurnberger Symphoniker, New York Philharmonic and English Baroque orchestras. Her recordings have received excellent reviews, and the second, including works by Rouse and Ibert, was chosen as a Gramophone "Choice" disc in August 2013. Kathryn has appeared at major international festivals as both concerto soloist and recitalist, and broadcast live on Classic FM, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Television.

The concert will be preceded by a talk in the church at 6.50pm given by Dr Emilie Capulet. This is free but there will be a retiring collection to cover costs.
