Pachelbel - Magnificat in D, and carols for choir and audience

This concert is designed to be a joyous pre Christmas musical occasion and will include children from a local primary school.

The centre piece is Johann Pachelbel's beautiful Magnificat. Pachelbel was a contemporary of JS Bach and was well known to the Bach family. Although he is best known these days for his cannon he was highly regarded by his peers as a composer of organ, orchestral and choral music. His magnificat in D is considered to be amongst his finest compositions. The choir will also sing a number of well known and some lesser known carols and there will be opprtunities for audience participation.
