  1. Stabat Mater Op 53 - Karol Szymanowski
  2. Symphony No 9 in D minor, 'Choral' Op 125 - Ludwig van Beethoven

One of the choral masterpieces of the twentieth century, Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater fuses his fabled command of orchestral sonority and exquisite lyricism with a simplicity and clarity derived from his profound study of Polish folk song and early church music. Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony crosses an immense musical and emotional span in its four movements, ending with a jubilant vision of mankind linked in universal brotherhood.
