At this year's final, 3 young pianists will battle it out for a first prize of £3000 and the chance to perform a series of high-profile recitals, in the final stage of the 2014 Brant International Piano Competition.

In addition to the first prize, this year's competition also sees the introduction of an audience prize, which will award £500 to the public's favourite competitor.

The three finalists will be chosen by a distinguished jury comprising Norma Fisher FRNCM (pianist and Professor at the Royal College of Music), Di Xiao (pianist and Tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire) and Richard Hawley (Director of Artistic Programming and Projects, Town Hall and Symphony Hall). Pianist John York will join the panel for the competition's final to help decide the overall winner.

Founded in 1979, and open to all UK-based pianists between the ages of 18 and 28, the Brant International Piano Competition is one of the West Midlands' most prestigious music competitions, and a stepping stone to professional success.
