Karl Jenkins's The Armed Man forms the centrepiece of Overgate Hospice Choir's Autumn Concert - an event comprising a centenary commemoration of the outbreak of the First World War in the summer of 1914. Other music in the programme reflects a similar theme, including a setting of Psalm 23 - The Lord is my Shepherd, written in Halifax by Dutch émigré composer Professor Herman Van Dyk.
