A celebration of the English choral tradition over five centuries.

The programme contrasts sacred and secular pieces, from Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices to Britten’s Five Flower Songs, and includes works by Purcell, Tallis, Gibbons, Howells and Vaughan Williams.

The concert will conclude with a rare performance of Dyson’s The Blacksmiths with piano and timpani accompaniment.
