Our 91st season of concerts offers a rich variety of classical music to inspire and entertain audiences. Whether you are a casual listener or knowledgeable enthusiast, you can enjoy some beautiful masterpieces performed by internationally famous soloists.

For our first concert, the focus is on French music, beginning with Chabrier’s rhapsody, España. The sensuous sound world of Debussy will be featured in his innovative Prélude including the exotic opening flute solo. His scenic evocation of Mallarmé’s poem is regarded as a turning point in the history of classical music with its languorous melody and the gentle loosening of rhythmic and harmonic ties.

World-renowned organist, Simon Preston, will join the orchestra in two pieces. Poulenc’s Organ Concerto contains extreme differences in style from the loud, violent opening to the calmer middle section. Saint-Saëns was writing to his limits in the opulent Organ Symphony, which erupts in a display of organ fireworks at the end.
