Darvel Parish Church are very proud to announce that their 1908 Forster and Andrews pipe organ has been awarded a grade I listing from the British Institute of Organ Studies, based at the Royal College of Music in London.

In celebration of this, the march recital of the Darvel Organ Recital Series will be a special celebratory celebrity recital given by Professor George McPhee MBE DUniv BMus DipMusEdRSAM FRCO HonFRSCM HonFGCM, Organist and Master of the Choristers of Paisley Abbey, professor of organ at the University of St. Andrews and vice-president of the Royal College of Organists. Professor McPhee is regarded as one of the leading organists in the UK and is known to audiences through his many recitals, recordings and broadcasts, as well as his tireless work as an expert consultant in organ building and restoration.

He will present the certificate of listing before giving a splendid recital which will include music by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Guilmant and Vaughan-Williams. This promises to be a recital not-to-be-missed.

Admission is by donation of £3 or more which will go to the work of the Ayrshire (East) Foodbank. This includes tea, coffee and home-baking following the programme.
