'The Endellion is arguably the finest quartet in Britain' - The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians.

During the 2011-2012 Season at West Road Concert Hall, we shall be celebrating our 20th Anniversary as 'Quartet in Residence' at Cambridge University with a running theme of Mendelssohn's greatest quartets together with other favourites.

We are joined in this concert by the wonderful pianist Kathryn Stott for Fauré’s magical First Piano Quartet and Brahms’s intensely powerful Piano Quintet. These are preceded by the brilliance of Mendelssohn’s dazzling D major quartet – his Op.44 No.1 was actually written the year after Op.44 No.2.

The Season's concert dates (all Wednesdays) are: 19 October 2011, 30 November 2011, 18 January 2012, 7 March 2012, 25 April 2012, 9 May 2012.
