A concert purely of solo flute music is rare. Be prepared to hear sounds you didn't know were possible! Rosanna will be performing a wide variety of music by very well known composers and some hidden gems, jumping from Bach to Reich and beyond.
An exceptionally versatile and theatrical performer, Rosanna is in demand as a multi-flautist, improviser, actor-musician and creative collaborator in Europe and beyond. Described as ‘outstanding’ by the Telegraph and ‘super-charged’ by the Guardian, Rosanna’s performances exude class, personality and virtuosity. She is known for her charismatic presence and on-stage vitality and flair.
Forever resisting the urge to fit neatly in to a box, Rosanna enjoys performing many different styles of music - classical, contemporary, avant-guard experimental, pop, rock, Eastern European, latin and folk which has led her to work on many different projects across the globe. Rosanna plays with some of the UK’s most renowned improvisers, chamber groups, contemporary music ensembles, orchestras and theatre companies. She is also on the artistic and audition panel for the Park Lane Group.
Rosanna has a passion for the stage. Last year she worked as the Alternate Musical Director on the Globe’s transfer of Emilia to London’s West-End (3 Olivier Nominations) and the German Cabaret production Der Neue Mensch. She performs with the immersive Opera show Vixen (Silent Opera/ENO) with whom she’s toured internationally after rave reviews and with the Royal Opera House’s immersive productions touring across the UK.
Rosanna’s versatility has led her to work as a soloist and ensemble musician with numerous artists and collectives such as the contemporary classical/jazz ensemble Engines Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Multi-story Orchestra, Phaedra Ensemble, Disney’s The Lion King Tour and touring rock band Legend of a Band. During lockdown, she has begun working with Tooriyum, a new collaborative project who have been creating music remotely. She is a founding member of the contemporary music ensemble Alluna, the improvisers collective Union Division and Brazilian band A Oca. She has performed as a soloist live on radio, at many festivals and at the UK’s most prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, The Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall, the Bridgewater Hall and at over 50 music clubs,
In demand as a session musician, she has recorded for artists as diverse as Danalogue, Ana Silvera, Katie Melua as well as TV and film. She is the demo-flautist and recording artist for the Global music exam board ABRSM, having recorded the syllabus CD and downloads for 2018-21 and 2014-17.
Rosanna studied at Strasbourg Conservatoire and Trinity Laban where she graduated with Distinction in her MMus and the highest performance mark in her faculty. She was a finalist in Trinity’s Isabelle Bond Gold Medal Competition and went on to win over ten national competitions whilst studying. Soon after, she was quickly snapped up as an artist for the Park Lane Group, Live Music Now, Making Music AYCA, Countess of Munster and the Concordia Foundation.
