This is the second evening concert in this season's Thames Concerts Series 2017/18.

The Ducasse Trio was formed in 2010 when they met as students at the Paris Conservatoire. Since then the Trio has gone on to undertake residencies at the Academie Musicale de Villecroze (France) and Academie de Musique Tibor Varga (Switzerland) working with Paul Meyer and Gilbert Audin and earlier this year attended IMS Prussia Cove working with Thomas Adès. The Trio has won several awards including a Worshipful Company of Musicians’ award, Concordia's Barthel Prize and were finalists in YCAT 2016.

Recent highlights include their debut at Wigmore Hall and recitals at Bridgewater Hall, St John's Smith Square, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Bishopsgate Institute. In 2015 the trio embarked upon their first national tour of Ireland, performing at the Clifden Arts Festival, West Cork Chamber Music Festival and culminating in a debut at the National Concert Hall Ireland. This summer the Trio record their debut CD for Claudio Records and give recitals at Petworth Festival, Kilkennny Arts and Wexford Festivals.

Passionate about presenting the many neglected works for this ensemble to new audiences, the Trio has also commissioned and championed new repertoire, notably works by Christian Dachez. The Trio is currently in the process of commissioning pieces from Charlotte Bray and other notable young composers.

All three members of the trio enjoy individual success.
