Please join us for a lunchtime concert by Kanae Furomoto.

Kanae Furomoto has given performances in a number of countries in Europe and South East Asia, in the USA, as well as within the UK and her native Japan. Her experience as a soloist, as ensemble player and as accompanist extends from the radio broadcasts on the Classic FM, the NHK-FM and others to appearances at music festivals like the Budapest Spring Festival.

She gave a highly acclaimed concert together with a violinist at the Tokyo Furtwangler Fest in 2011, a live recording of which is available from the King International Co.Ltd. Her first solo CD ‘Pastorale Romantique’ was released in 2013. She was invited to Thailand as a jury member for The 3rd International String Competition in 2014. In 2015 and 2016 she revisited China, where she gave performances a decade ago, for concerts. Last year she released her second solo CD ‘Shakespeare in Music’.

Kanae studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, firstly with Lois Phillips, and later with Hamish Milne. She was awarded several prestigious prizes and scholarships inside and outside the college, and gained the M.Mus. from the University of London.
