BBC Introducing classical artist Jamal Aliyev is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after cellists of his generation. He has recently recorded his debut CD on a Russian theme with Champs Hill Records in UK and will be promoting it next season at his Wigmore Hall recital in London.

Aliyev appeared on one of the World’s most influential classical music station BBC Radio 3 on four occasions starting in 2012 when he was first invited to perform on Sean Rafferty's programme 'In Tune' after his BBC Radio 3 live broadcast solo debut with BBC Concert Orchestra at the Menuhin Hall in London. Aliyev has also performed on BBC In Tune twice after that in 2015/16 season as well as his recent performance on London Live TV.

Jamal Aliyev has performed in various prestigious festivals including the Menuhin Festival in Switzerland where he performed solo with the Yehudi Menuhin School Orchestra. Being the First Prize winner of several international competitions; Trakya International Competition (2002), V. Antonio Janigro International Competition (2004), Muriel Taylor Cello Competition (2014), Croydon Concerto Competition (2015), Bromsgrove International Competition (2015) and Eastbourne Concerto Competition (2016) Aliyev has also won; RCM Concerto Competition 2014, RCM Violoncello Competition 2014, RCM Concerto Competition 2015 and RCM Violoncello Competition 2015 at the Royal College of Music where he is currently studying.

Jamal Aliyev enjoys performing as a solo artist, and a chamber musician in Europe and Asia. His recent performances include prestigious venues such as: The Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Windsor Castle, Menuhin Hall, Forbidden City Concert Hall (Beijing), Reims Cathedral (France), the Arts Parliament House (Singapore), the Presidential Concert Hall (Turkey), Istrian Assembly Hall (Croatia), The Saanen Church (Menuhin Festival) in Gstaad - Switzerland, Rachmaninov Concert Hall (Moscow) and others.

As well as his appearance with BBC Concert Orchestra, Aliyev has collaborated as soloist on several occasions with orchestras such as; Presidential Symphony and Bilkent Symphony Orchestra of Turkey, Guildford Symphony, Epsom Symphony, Croydon Symphony, RCM Classical, RCM Philharmonic, Yehudi Menuhin School Orchestra, Kennemer Jeugd Orkest, Orpheus Sinfonia, LGSO, Whitehall Orchestra, Eskisehir Symphony, Kingston Chamber Orchestra and others...

Jamal Aliyev is generously sponsored by Neville Wathen Scholar supported by an Amaryllis Fleming Award, Hattori Foundation, Martin Trust, Talent Unlimited and the Bowerman family and is a recipient of four "full scholarship" awards from Royal College of Music, Central Music School of Moscow, Royal Academy and The Yehudi Menuhin School.

Maria Tarasewicz has already gained an enviable international reputation as a soloist and chamber musician. Maria studied first in the Ukraine with Alexandra Smetankina and Iya Pavlova, and then in Poland with Natalia Radecka, Natalia Rewakowicz (piano) and Maja Sterczynska (chamber music). In 2008 she moved to Brussels where she continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels under Boyan Vodenitcharov, Eugene Moguilevsky, Olga Rumchevych and Piet Kuijken.

Maria Tarasewicz is in great demand as a chamber musician, teacher and accompanist in many international musical festivals including Musica Mundi in Belgium, the Stavanger Youth Chamber Festival in Norway, Jersey International Masterclass and Festival.

As well as her commitment to working with young musicians Maria has collaborated with many great musicians of this generation including Ivry Gitlis, Maxim Vengerov, Leonid Kerbel, Gavriel Lipkind, Dora Schwarzberg, Truls Mørk, Vladimir Perlin, Leonid Gorokhov, Itamar Golan, Paul Gulda, Paul Badura-Skoda, David Dolan, Hagit Hassid-Kerbel and Hogon Austbo.

Maria is a laureate of many chamber music competitions as well as appearing as a soloist across Europe.
