Join Marie and Din for a musical tour of the Spanish Siglo de Oro, starting from the Renaissance period of reconquest and the discovery and exploitation of the New World, through to the decline of the empire in the early Baroque. The earlier period was marked by the popularity of the vihuela, and the programme includes many songs written to be accompanied by this very Spanish instrument, by composers such as Milan, Mudarra and Fuenllana. The later songs by Hidalgo, Marin and others used lute or guitar as continuo accompaniment.

Entry is free, with a retiring collection
