Dream of Gerontius | Cheltenham College Choral Society

The Dream of Gerontius has become a firm favourite within the modern choral repertoire. Elgar's masterful musical setting of Newman's poem tells the story of Gerontius as he moves closer to death and his subsequent journey to the afterlife.

The vivid and characterful setting takes Gerontius and the listener through hoards of demons, throngs of angels and finally to God's judgement.

This performance brings together staff, students and parents of Cheltenham College, as the Choral Society are joined by the Chapel Choir and the Chamber Choir.

Internationally renowned soloists join a professional orchestra in what will be a performance not to be missed.
