Londinium's festive programme retraces the journey from Old Testament prophecy to the events of the Nativity in a superb selection of a cappella repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day. Highlights include Poulenc's lyrical Four Christmas Motets, motets by Byrd, Lassus, Mouton and Schütz, music by Brahms and Mendelssohn, and, from our own time, James MacMillan and Cecilia McDowall. The programme closes with a rare performance of Schoenberg's glorious early masterpiece Friede auf Erden: an unforgettable, sumptuously-scored clarion call for harmony and brotherhood in a fractured world.

Wine and mince pies will be served in the interval.
