  1. Overture, from Le Corsaire - Hector Berlioz
  2. Scheherazade Op 35 - Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov
  3. Romeo and Juliet Suite No 1 Op 64a - Sergey Prokofiev

Charismatic Swiss conductor Stefan Blunier helms a nautically-inspired evening with the Orchestra of Opera North. Berlioz’s Overture Le Corsaire celebrates the life of the brigand while Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade includes some intense evocations of the changing moods of the ocean. Starting out on dry land, Prokofiev’s exhilarating opening suite from Romeo and Juliet launches the evening.
