  1. Blumine - Gustav Mahler
  2. Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No 1 in D minor Op 15 - Johannes Brahms
  3. Beverly Meadow - Matthew Brown
  4. Symphony No 7 in A Op 92 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Brahms profoundly moving Piano Concerto no 1 is an extraordinary peak in the mid-19th century concerto literature, with influences ranging from Bach to Schumann. We are thrilled that this concert will also include the world premiere of "Beverlie Meadow" by Matthew Brown, a terrifically gifted composer based in Canterbury. The CRSO's regular audience members will know that the orchestra loves to engage in the music of living composers. Matthew's work was a great hit with the CRSO membership when it was rehearsed recently, and we wanted to perform it as soon as possible. Come and hear it; we think you will love it too! Mahler's delicate, and rarely performed Blumine- a movement which Mahler removed from his Symphony no.1, and Beethoven's exhuberant 7th Symphony complete the programme.
