Villiers Quartet: Late Beethoven Series VI

his late afternoon performance is the conclusion of the Villiers Quartet’s Late Beethoven Series which has run over the last two years at the JdP and the Andrew Wiles Building. This hour-long event will start with an extended talk in which the Grosse Fuge is discussed in relation to the other quartets in the series and with respect to Beethoven’s late style.

Our concert is associated with a whole Villiers Quartet Study Day on the Große Fuge, in which players and observers from around the country discuss the piece and take part in an early afternoon ‘playalong’ preceded by a coaching session.
