In honour of World Pulmonary Hypertension Day, the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute (PVRI) has organised a charity concert in Kent in the United Kingdom.

Internationally acclaimed conductor Stephen Barlow and the lauded 'Festival Chamber Orchestra' will play a number of classics including Bach's 'Brandenburg Concerto No 2', Albinoni's 'Double Oboe Concerto in F', the 'Adagio for Strings' by Barber, and Mozart's Symphony 'No 40 in G minor'.

All proceeds will go towards helping achieve the PVRI's goals of raising awareness and increasing research on pulmonary vascular diseases worldwide.

The Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute is a charity that brings the best medical professionals in the world together in order to carry out research on pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) which can be more commonly described as high blood pressure in the lungs. This is a fatal illness, affects people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds, including many fit young athletes. It is estimated that over 35million people in the world suffer from PVD, although this figure could be much higher as the disease is often undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

The PVRI is the only global medical research charity fighting PVD. Our mission is to improve the care of patients with PVD throughout the world by raising awareness of PVD, facilitating research and encouraging the development of medicines to treat PVD.
