  1. Saint Cecilia's Day Ode: 'Hail, bright Cecilia' Z328 - Henry Purcell
  2. Song for St Cecilia's Day - Ian le Grice
  3. Magnificat in D H 772 - Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach

The long-established Banstead-based St Cecilia Chorus marks the tercentenary of CPE Bach with a performance of his exuberant baroque masterpiece 'Magnificat'. This is coupled appropriately with two works written three centuries apart in honour of St Cecilia, patron saint of music: Purcell's magnificent ode 'Hail, Bright Cecilia' and 'Song for St Cecilia's Day' composed by St Cecilia Chorus's accompanist Ian le Grice who also plays organ in this concert. The period-instrument players of The Little Baroque Company and the five superb guest soloists join the Chorus under the baton of Jonathan Rennert.
