The Fournier Trio, stunning 2013 Parkhouse Award prizewinners have been described as 'awesome'. This is a young ensemble not to miss!

This evening’s concert has a special significance as this year the Parkhouse Award celebrates the ninetieth birthday of the founder and President of the Parkhouse Award. It is rare enough to reach the pinnacle of chamber music-making as did Eileen Parkhouse with her husband David Parkhouse, and Hugh Bean, as the much-loved Music Group of London. Ever rarer is it for a renowned soloist and chamber musician to found a unique Award to encourage young piano-based ensembles to establish themselves on the London scene.

The success of the Award over nearly a quarter of a century has fully justified Eileen’s pioneering energy, determination and wise guidance. The Fournier Trio and all our previous Prizewinners join us in celebrating Eileen’s enormous personal contribution to music and her creative, generous and unique gift to the younger generation.
