  3. The Lark Ascending Op 50 - Ralph Vaughan Williams
  4. Symphony No 40 in G minor K 550 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Although an urban man, much of Ralph Vaughan Williams' music was inspired by the sounds and emotions of the English countryside from the rural past, beautifully realised in his Romance for Violin and Small Orchestra The Lark Ascending. That’s just one piece in this joyous concert given by Bath Philharmonia which also features Mozart’s earliest Symphony No 1 and his ever popular Symphony No 40, plus Vaughan Williams'Violin Concerto played with style by the stunning young English violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen.
Summer sunshine indeed.
