  1. Tod und Verklärung (Death and Transfiguration) Op 24 - Richard Strauss
  2. The Dream of Gerontius Op 38 - Sir Edward Elgar

Arguably Edward Elgar's greatest choral work - if not the greatest by any English composer - The Dream of Gerontius depicts the death of Gerontius and the journey of his soul towards the judgement seat of God, as described in Cardinal Newman's famous poem. Perfectly complementing the emotional intensity and impact of Elgar's masterful choral and orchestral writing, Strauss's Tod und Verklärung tells the story of a dying artist who ultimately achieves heavenly bliss.
