The festival début of amazing young jazz pianist Gwilym Simcock, who plays the first acoustic set since the second world war in the Grand Variety Palace, a 1904 horseshoe theatre on the high street in Colchester, now used as a nightclub. The theatre has many architectural features intact and is described by the Theatres' Trust as 'an exceptionally fine example of a small Edwardian Theatre'.

Part of Roman River Festival 2013 - 100 performers, 20 concerts and 16 venues on the Essex Suffolk borders.
