  3. Symphony No 3 in E flat, 'Eroica' Op 55 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Join us on Thursday 14 February for our Valentine’s Day Special concert. We celebrate one of the most romantic and evocative of instruments, the guitar, with soloist Xuefei Yang, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music, described by the New York Sun as 'one of the most extraordinary instrumentalists in the world'. She will perform the Albéniz Concerto by our resident composer Stephen Goss, 'a full-blown romantic guitar concerto', which was recorded by Xuefei for EMI in 2010.

Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony is widely regarded as the first symphony to capture the romantic imagination, revolutionising music and the concert hall for ever more. From the two dramatic opening chords onwards, this piece sets one alight with all the vibrancy, drama and excitement the human spirit can offer.

Bring your loved ones and have your heart warmed by some of the most romantic music ever written.
