Mark Simpson was the winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition and was the Proms/Guardian Young Composer of the Year in 2006. He was recently chosen to become a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist. His composition 'Sparks' opened the Last Night of the Proms in 2012.
