Season Opening Concert | Charity Symphony Orchestra - Supporting Age Concern

The Charity Symphony Orchestra start the 2012/13 Season with music from three German heavyweight composers. The orchestra also welcomes back Norwegian conductor Jon Fylling.

The concert will be raising money for Age Concern Southampton. The small local charity provides support and services to all older people, and those who care for them, living in the City of Southampton. They promote positive ageing, healthier lifestyles and encourage independent living.

The Charity Symphony Orchestra is a leading and successful fundraising ensemble based on the South Coast of England. The orchestra draws players from across the region and beyond from a pool of nearly 200 musicians from amateur and professional backgrounds.

Everyone involved with the orchestra, players and management, donate their time and skill to the goal of raising as much money as possible for deserving causes. The orchestra is very sociable, providing an opportunity for members to keep in touch with friends and meet new people. It is a humbling experience to work with so many talented and enthusiastic musicians.
