  3. Piano Trio No 7 in B Flat 'Archduke' Op 97 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Phoenix return to Wigmore Hall in a recital featuring Beethoven’s magnificent ‘Archduke’ piano trio. Symphonic in scale, this has remained an enduring highlight of the chamber music repertoire since its première, one of the last occasions Beethoven played in public himself. One of Haydn’s late trios – a perfect combination of classical poise and passionate outbursts – and Schumann’s glorious Fantasiestücke complete a wonderful programme.

The Phoenix Piano Trio brings together three renowned musicians, all praised for their warmth, flair and precision. They made their debut at Wigmore Hall in May this year, following complete Beethoven cycles in London and Oxford, and the launch of their first CD on Stone Records.
