The psalms inspire widely, especially in Coverdale's poetic translation. The imagery is splendid "They grin like a dog and run about through the city", while Stephen Fry called his autobiography "Moab is my Washpot". Every psalm has been set to music, many of them repeatedly. City of Oxford Choir choose some of the finest and most evocative of these settings, from composers from across four hundred years and five countries. The new organ of Keble College, perhaps the only one in Oxford capable of doing full justice to the English Cathedral repertoire, will be heard in the brilliant hands of Christian Wilson.
