In this fifth concert of The William Alwyn Festival we present an orchestral concert that features two world premieres: Alwyn's incidental music to a documentary film, which in essence is an expressive miniature tone poem, and a new work from the highly respected British composer David Matthews. Also included is music from two local Suffolk composers, Elis Pehkonen and Christopher Wright, who deserve a wider hearing. The concert closes with Beethoven's joyous 8th Symphony.
