Samling Gala Concert with Yvonne Kenny

One of the world’s leading stars of opera and song, Yvonne Kenny, returns once again to the North East to lead one of Samling’s prestigious Masterclass weeks. The Australian soprano is part of Samling’s Masterclass team who work in Cumbria with specially selected young international artists in week-long residential courses to become ‘Samling Scholars’. She will be joined by pianist and broadcaster Iain Burnside, vocal consultant Paul Farrington and pianist Caroline Dowdle.

Six young singers and two pianists were selected to participate in one of Samling’s world renowned Masterclass weeks. They are sopranos Anna Anadarajah, Anna Patalong and Kim Strebel, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Afonw-Jones, tenor Thorbjørn Gulbrandsøy, baritone Koji Terada and pianists Belinda Jones and Jo Ramadan.

The course will be concluded with a gala concert where the eight young artists will perform alongside their tutors in a display of excellence. The concert will be followed by dinner with all the artists in the medieval Tithe Barn.
