Fantasia Orchestra opens 2024 with the extraordinarily talented saxophonist and BBC presenter, Jess Gillam. For her return visit to Fantasia, Jess brings two major Scottish inflected works for saxophone and strings: James MacMillan's Saxophone Concerto and Dave Heath's virtuosic and dance filled The Celtic.

On each side of the interval, you're sure to experience a meditative moment: On the Nature of Daylight (Max Richter) arranged here for saxophone and strings, and Barber's Adagio for Strings.

We'll open and close with works that show off Fantasia's strings: Anna Clyne's Stride and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings.
