  1. Le Songe de Cléopâtre Op 180 - Mélanie Bonis
  2. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in B minor Op 61 - Sir Edward Elgar
  3. Overture to Tableau 8, from Moses - Anton Rubinstein
  4. Pictures at an Exhibition - Modest Mussorgsky, arranged by Maurice Ravel

The FSO performs Mussorgsky’s much-loved musical depiction of an art gallery, masterfully orchestrated by Ravel. In this performance an extra image will join the exhibition: an excerpt from Rubinstein’s opera ‘Moses’.

In the first half of the concert, the French late-Romantic composer Mel Bonis paints a picture in sound of a dreaming Cleopatra, and the award-winning soloist Madeleine Pickering plays Elgar’s passionate Violin Concerto.
