  1. Messiah HWV 56 - George Frideric Handel

Completed in 1741 in an astonishing twenty-four days, Handel’s Messiah, which chronicles the life of Jesus Christ, received a modest reception from the public at its first London performance. Nearly three centuries after its composition, however, its popularity has increased dramatically to the point where it is arguably the best-known and most frequently performed choral work in all Western music. Orchestra of the Swan wil be joined by Samantha Hay (soprano), Nicholas Mulroy (tenor), William Towers (countertenor), David John Pike (bass), Orchestra of the Swan Chamber Choir and conductor Rebecca Miller.
