Nastasya Sumantho is the Victor of the 2023 Leeds Conservatoire Piano Competition sponsored by Besbrode Pianos in Leeds, Nastasya is a worthy recipient of £500 prize money and solo piano recital.

Growing up in Indonesia in a musical family with a love of Western Classical music, provided the perfect springboard for Nastasya Sumantho, aged 18, to move to the UK to pursue her calling to become a professional pianist. Four years later, through a steadfast vision, she is the recipient of a distinction in her Masters of Arts degree in piano performance from All Steinway School, The Leeds Conservatoire, having studied under Eleanor Hodgkinson. Nastasya showcases an eclectic selection of pieces from Haydn, Harrison, Tchaikovsky and Scriabin and will play on the Steinway Model D on loan from Leeds Town Hall.
